Say it ain’t so Harry Potter, say it ain’t so!

It looks like everyone’s favorite boy wizard Daniel Radcliffe allegedly got a little too friendly with the bottle early in his career. Friendly enough that he scared himself into sobriety.

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine Radcliffe admits to having had a drinking problem, “I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff,” he said. “There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

The star even admitted that he was fairly close to being another LiLo, luckily the paparazzi never snapped his oft inebriated self, “I really got away with that because there were so many instances when a paparazzi shot like that could have been taken.”

Radcliffe quit the bottle last year, and has been sober since August 2010. He even skipped the premiere of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ for fear of being tempted. Instead, as the last Harry Potter flick debuted on the big screen, the star was at home, watching “the Discovery Channel … [with] a bowl of Sugar Puffs.”

Sorry ladies, Radcliffe is happily coupled, and says that sobriety is doing wonders for his relationship, “I’m actually enjoying the fact that I can have a relationship with my girlfriend [Olive Uniacke] where I’m really pleasant and not f–ked up totally all the time … As much as I would love to be the person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me.”

Unfortunately, it seems Olivia is a bit of a party-girl. Stay strong, Harry. If you can defeat Voldemort you can resist the temptation!

Does anyone else want to re-watch all the movies and find drunk Harry moments?
