1. Today is the Taste of the Parks Festival!
Celebrate New York City’s specialty food vendors as they offer a taste of their award-winning goods! 17 of Parks’ vendors from across the 5 boroughs will showcase their high-quality food items that are offered in the parks every day. Our specialty vendors are as diverse as New York City itself, offering everything from West Indian, Belgian, and Latin cuisine to traditional New York fare with a twist – like organic hot dogs, specialty pretzels, and pizza… a la cart! That’s at the Arsenal in Central Park starting at 11am.
2. Free Yoga In Central Park!
Join the world’s largest yoga event, FREE in Central Park. Hosted by flavorpill, the event hopes to attract an estimated 10,000 yogis to practice on the Great Lawn under the guidance of NY’s own mistress of massive yoga events, Elena Brower. All Yoga levels are welcome, minimum age 16. That starts at 6:45.
3. Wimbledon 2011 at Rockefeller Center
HSBC Bank presents Wimbledon 2011 at Rockefeller Center! The free events include live Wimbledon screenings, strawberries and cream PLUS Singles tennis on Manhattan’s only grass court. That runs through Friday!
Also in Sports, Brooklyn Cyclones home game vs. the Aberdeen IronBirds at 7 p.m. with Everyone Runs the Bases Postgame. And the Mets are playing the Athletics at 7:10 p.m.
