1. 5th Annual Make Music New York
Today is the 5th Annual Make Music New York! Make Music is “the largest music event ever to grace Gotham.” It’s a unique festival of free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City, all today, the first day of summer. MMNY takes place simultaneously with similar festivities in more than 460 cities around the world.
2. Wimbledon 2011 at Rockefeller Center
HSBC Bank presents Wimbledon 2011 at Rockefeller Center! The free events include live Wimbledon screenings, strawberries and cream PLUS Singles tennis on Manhattan’s only grass court. That runs through Friday!
Also in Sports, Brooklyn Cyclones home game vs. the Aberdeen IronBirds at 7 p.m. with Everyone Runs the Bases Postgame. The Staten Island Yankees home game vs. Hudson Valley Renegades at 7 p.m. with post-game fireworks. And the Mets are playing the Athletics at 7:10 p.m.
