Try and deny that you don’t get sucked into those Food Network cooking shows.

They’re like crack, you don’t know why you’re watching them, but you just can’t stop.

The Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten, may have a few less watchers these days after she totally ditched a dying boy’s Make-a-Wish Foundation request to cook a meal with her.

According to TMZ, a little boy named Enzo, who is currently being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, was approached by the Make-a-Wish Foundation three years ago about fulfilling his lifelong wish. Enzo said he would love to cook a meal with the Barefoot Contessa because he would watch her show with his mother while he underwent treatment.

Awww.

Here’s the thing, when the foundation approached Garten, she said she was too busy.

Booo!

No problem for Enzo, he said he would wait. The kid waited three-years, which is a lot when your being approached by the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The foundation returned to Garten again, asking her to cook a meal with this poor dying kid, and she said no again, stating again that she just didn’t have the time.

This of course left Enzo heartbroken, he told his family “Why doesn’t she want to meet me?”

Because she’s a jerkwad, Enzo. It’s not you.

Since then, the foundation has finally gotten Enzo to make a new wish. Enzo is going to swim with the dolphins. Dolphins are way cooler than evil celebrity chefs anyhow.

Without people like Enzo and his mom, she would not have a show. I find her to be dirty looking and sort of gross anyway, so I cannot really watch her show. Enzo is better than she will ever be. She should be ashamed turning any child away, especially an ill one…….children learn by example…….guess the show should be called “Heartless Contessa”

That is perfect logo for her! Thank you!
She will forever be the “Heartless Contessa” to me and probably a million others
I can picture that sweet little boy sitting beside his Mom watching Ina. He thought she was sweet and nice and she made cozy and delicious food and she cared so much about all her friends that he just wanted to be with this nice lady and maybe cook something sweet and nice too.
I used to think she was nice also : (

I have had a number of family members who have died from cancer. The make a wish foundation has given these family members a day of sunshine and happiness. I feel for the child in that he can not understand why he is sick and why someone like Ina will not see him. I believe she could have made a choice to send him something, or send her husband just to say hello. I know we all lead busy life’s, but there could have been some form of acknowledgement that could have made the child’s day.
I believe everyone has the child’s best interest at heart and sometimes people get so busy they forget to show it.
“Ina please send him something to let him know you do care!!”
