Since [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Steven Tyler[/lastfm]‘s appearance on the show, sales on [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Aerosmith[/lastfm] albums have sky rocketed. One of the albums saw a 260% increase in sales!
Aerosmith’s 1994 compilation Big Ones, saw increased sales of 260% after American Idol’s premiere. Likewise, 2004′s Devil’s Got a New Disguise: The Very Best of Aerosmith, saw a spike of 146% after the second week of Idol. Two more Greatest Hits collections saw surges of 137% and 147%.
In the digital department, they are saw an explosion of downloads for individual songs too. “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” is up 363% and “Dream On” is up 318%.
These numbers will only grow since Tyler and the crew are heading in to the to record their first album since 2004. The band has recently completed eight days of writing and hopes to release the album sometime this year.
