Jason Statham (as 'Arthur Bishop') in "The Mechanic" Photo: CBS Films
Each week our friends at The Guest List bring us brand new interviews with some of the hottest celebrities on the scene.
The Mechanic stars Jason Statham (known for roles in The Italian Job and The Expendables) as Arthur Bishop, the role originally played by Charles Bronson in the 1972 film of the same name. Like the cult classic, the remake centers around a badass hit man–the best in the business –joined by his vengeful son (Ben Foster) to hunt down the murder of his mentor, Harry (Donald Sutherland).
As you can imagine, there are tons of villainous and action-hero moments. But what makes these sort of movies and characters so appealing to audiences? Both actors offer some insight on the subject, plus the two jokingly share what job, if given in real life, would they ask of a hit man to do for them [Hint: Not a typical answer from your average "Mechanic"].
Interview with Jason Statham and Ben Foster:
Does Jason Statham equal Charles Bronson? Compare the original trailer with the remake, and chime in below if you think Statham was the right guy for the job?
