J-Lo Says No To Idol Imitation
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm] is taking her duties as American Idol judge seriously, but a word of wisdom to Idol hopefuls: don’t try to sing her songs.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but J-Lo would prefer you leave her songs alone.
“It was cute, super entertaining and flattering, but no”, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm] recently told reporters of contestants that tried to impress the judges by singing one of her songs.
Imitators will not be tolerated, but that doesn’t mean Lopez takes the rejecting lightly. She says she’s empathetic to the contestants. “I’ve cried”, J-Lo said. “We get a lot of elation when we put them through and devastation, almost, when they’re not. But it’s been a ball.”
“Almost”. Okay, so maybe she’s not actually devastated, but “almost”.
