You would never think that a celebrity, especially one as beautiful and successful as Brandy, would ever become a victim of bullying. But the singer has opened up to Upscale Magazine in a recent interview and says that she is in fact feeling the effects of bullying… cyber-bullying on the Twitter.
During an interview with Upscale Magazine, the R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, TV entertainer, actress, film producer and most recently, Dancing With The Stars top 5 contestant explained why she can’t enjoy Twitter like most celebrities.
You may remember that back in late 2006, the singer was involved in a fatal car accident on an L.A. freeway on December 30th. Following the accident, a statement from Brandy’s publicist, Courtney Barnes, confirmed her involvement in the crash: “Brandy was involved in a car accident on December 30, 2006 in Los Angeles where there was a fatality. She wishes to express her condolences publicly to the family of the deceased. Brandy asks that you respect the privacy of everyone involved at this time”
Brandy opened up to CBS News‘ Maggie Rodriguez back in 2008 about the car accident she was involved in that killed a young mother and looking ahead to the future.
In the interview, Brandy explained that “People call me a murderer, they taunt me and send pictures of cars that are basically annihilated. Every report has stated that I was not at fault. People still don’t care.”
She says the memory still haunts her.
Way to go people… make her feel awful about something that she has no control over. What’s next, making fun of Justin Bieber for being young, handsome and poised to rule the world? Or maybe Willow Smith for being, well, Willow Smith?
