Lady Gaga‘s controversial and headline-making MTV VMA’s meat dress will be preserved and made into jerky.

Good thing too… I’m starving!

Designer Franc Fernandez said: “The dress will go through a process where it becomes a sort of ‘jerky’ and will be archived. The meat dries out, rather than rotting. But it shouldn’t be worn again.“

Umm..it’s a meat dress…..Maybe it should never have been worn in the first place? I’m just sayin’!!

Almost 50 pounds of steak were used to create the infamous dress, which was brought to the VMA’s in a cooler.

Fernandez says [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] will be the only one to wear one of his meat creations. “There’s not going to be meat dresses in the future. This was made for a specific purpose. It is what is.”

Okay, PETA. You can sleep soundly now. No more meat ensembles.
