As if the story surrounding the life of Michael Jackson couldn’t get any more twisted, his “loving” father Joe Jackson was recorded during an interview stating that his beatings kept MJ on the straight and narrow.
The soon-to-be-infamous interview is courtesy of JacksonSecretVault.com and will be used in a movie produced by Howard Mann and his wife, Katherine Jackson. In the interview, Joe is asked about the alleged beatings of young Michael and he replied, “I had to be like that because when raising him, in those days, so many gangs out there getting into trouble, going to jail. Most of them are dead now. He didn’t have to worry about that.”
When the interviewer asked if Joe had any regrets, Jackson said, “No! They tried to make a big issue when I spanked Michael or some of the kids, ya know? Just like they didn’t spank their kids when they did wrong. The media twists everything.” (Sure)
Michael had been known for being extremely soft-spoken and quiet when not performing so it seems a bit confusing that he may have wanted to take part in a gang. I mean the guy made an emotional ballad about a mouse… signs of a future gang banger?

…I doubt it.
