Ladies and gentlemen… Pop-Tarts World opens in NYCs Times Square on Tuesday, August 10th, joining M&Ms and Hershey as another sweet tourist spot in the Big Apple!
Located on 42nd Street between 6th and Broadway, the store will run at least until January, when company execs will decide whether to continue or scrap the most brilliant idea since Jolt Cola’s Caffeine Conniption water park (Note: not an actual park – but how awesome would that be?!).
The store will include a cafe selling… um… Pop-Tarts, but you can expect a few surprises. “People say ‘Well, what can you really do with a Pop-Tart?'” COO Scott Schoessel of Gigunda Group told the New York Times. “Our chef has come up with amazing concoctions.”
The cafe will serve 30 different snacks and desserts, and visitors can also design their own Pop-Tarts by adding frosting, toppings, and drizzle, reports the Times.
Apparently, there will also be a light show designed to make you feel as though you were being covered in frosting and sprinkles before being toasted in one final bright flash. So, it’s a learning destination too… Hey, someone has to teach kids about the plight of the Pop-Tart!
“Our long-term hope is to strengthen the bond between the brand and the consumer, and that has great benefits for the brand,” senior director of Pop-Tarts, Etienne Patout told the Times.
See you there!
