American Idol winner [lastfm]Kris Allen[/lastfm] has teamed up with Pat Monahan from [lastfm]Train[/lastfm] to do a new version of his song “The Truth.” This version will be the second single to be released from the Idol winner’s self-titled debut album.

The new version, which was co-written by Monahan along with songwriter Toby Gad,  is currently streaming on Allen’s official site. Allen was originally not very keen on even including the song on his album since he didn’t write it. He told MTV back in November, “I thought it was really good, [but] for me, it was just stubbornness and wanting to write everything.”

The original version can be found on his self-titled album which is in stores now.
